Fair Winds and a Following Sea : Nolyn's Pharmaceutical Experience in Tacoma
Nolyn grew up in Portland. He's a fisherman. I first met him after seeing a picture of him on a fishing boat, squatting and wearing rain gear, looking handsome and perfectly at home. He makes his living fishing and sometimes returns home with fish flown with him. 50 lbs of fish, to be exact, because that's the airline's luggage limit before they start charging you. He checked.
Nolyn is a keen observer and relater of the world around him. His mind registers not only what is happening, but how he fits in with those happenings. He draws vibrant connections between seemingly disjointed occurrances.
From time to time, Nolyn also subjects himself to pharmaceutical experiments in exchange for cash.
This book is about those experiments and so much more. Nolyn wrote it all.

I saw some really good shit today that I had to jot down.. it was an older woman fred meyer's clerk wearing her employees uniform apron on a bike crossing hawthorne.. or the cyclists throwing up besides the oaks park train after eating too many blackberries i think this could almost be as good a rep for portland as the temperance water fountains.. waddya think??.
